Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Switzerland President Guy Parmelin met at Hyderabad House in New Delhi to strengthen ties between the two countries. After the talks, the two leaders signed five agreements. Here’s what will change for Indians!
PM Modi And Swiss President Sign Five Deals
During the meeting in New Delhi, PM Modi and Swiss President Guy Parmelin agreed to work together on trade, investment, defence, nuclear energy and infrastructure. As per The New Indian Express report, the agreements between the two countries also focus on migration and mobility, young professionals, and transportation technologies.
One of the agreements will make travel between India and Switzerland easier. Eligible people can get multiple-entry visas valid for up to five years. Each stay of the travellers can last up to six months. Also, students can get renewable one-year permits. The agreement also aims to tackle illegal migration and human trafficking.

Introduces Young Professionals Exchange Programme
Switzerland and India are also introducing a Young Professionals Exchange Programme. Under this programme, 300 people from each country will participate. This number can also be increased to 500. Through this programme, young professionals can get temporary jobs and gain work experience, professional skills, and language skills.
Also, India will get access to the Swiss market for products like agricultural goods, medicines, textiles, and engineering products. At the same time, India wants more Swiss companies to invest in areas like biotechnology, healthcare, banking, insurance, food processing, and sustainability.
During the meeting, the Swiss President was treated to delicious delicacies. These included Ambila Gerstensuppe, Farrukhabadi Aloo Karamlette, Dharti Ke Phool, Gobi Musallam, Besan Luki Lachha, Tikkhat Dal, Paneer Sawashian, and Assorted Indian Breads. For dessert, they were served Lapsi Nusstorte Pie, Masala Chai Ice Cream, and Carved Fresh Fruits. The meal also included Mysore Nuggets Coffee, Nagori Chai, or Sea Buckthorn Tea.
