Coffee lovers, we should tell you that Cappuccino Ramen is not a cup of coffee! It is basically a creative style of ramen featuring a rich, creamy broth topped with meringue or frothed egg white. Yes, the appearance of this unique dish looks like a giant cup of coffee. A food vlogger, @oneblogram, recently tried this dish for ¥1,500 (₹907 approx.) at Rahmen Eddie, a restaurant in Shinjuku, Tokyo and shared his experience on Instagram.
Cappuccino Ramen is made with a creamy, salt-based ramen broth featuring truffle and porcini mushroom sauce. It is then topped with fluffy, caramelised meringue, which makes it look like a usual cappuccino. But this meringue is not just for looks. It actually helps keep the soup warm while adding a light, velvety texture to the dish.
Honestly, the dish looks quite delicious, and according to the food vlogger, the mushroom ramen and the meringue surprisingly work well together. He also ordered Mentaiko Onigiri as a side dish to enjoy with the unique ramen.
