Soma isn’t a loud or headline-chasing restaurant. It’s the kind of place you end up at because someone told you, “Trust me, go here.” That’s exactly where Hrithik Roshan and his girlfriend Saba Azad headed for her birthday dinner, looking less for spectacle, more for a night that felt easy, warm, and indulgent in the right ways. What followed was clearly a meal that felt like a not-so-ordinary experience. The restaurant sits quietly in Barcelona’s Eixample area, drawing you in not with grandeur, but with personality.

Soma’s Ambience: Hrithik Roshan & Saba’s Fav Barcelona Restaurant

The first thing that stays with you at Soma is its colour and calm. Sea-green walls soften the space, giving it a coastal Mediterranean feel without leaning into clichés. The name Soma appears on glass in a golden yellow tone, subtle but striking, catching light as the evening progresses. The interiors feel urban and new, but not cold or modern without trying too hard.

There’s a bar, which adds movement and energy, making the place feel social and youthful. It’s modern and relaxed, the kind of restaurant where conversations stretch longer than planned.

What They Loved On The Menu

Starters & Mains

  • Burrata & Eggplant – The soft, creamy burrata paired with slow-cooked eggplant is a match made in heaven. It is royal, comforting, and exactly the kind of dish that disappears faster than expected.
  • Chicken Croquettes – They have crisp shells, warm centres, and are full of flavour. These weren’t just ordered, they were enjoyed.
  • Bread with Tomato – Spain’s beloved pan con tomate: toasted bread, ripe tomato and olive oil. Nothing fancy, nothing missing.
  • Meat on Carrot Purée – They are a savoury and hearty meat balanced by a smooth and mildly sweet carrot base that keeps the plate grounded.
  • Patatas Bravas – These are fried potato cubes topped with a punchy tomato sauce and aioli. A Spanish essential, as they put it, you simply can’t not do Patatas Bravas.

Dessert Trail

Dessert wasn’t an afterthought; it was an event in itself. Good enough to joke about going back three times, as Hrithik Roshan did!

  • Flan – This one is silky, caramel-laced, and confidently declared by Hrithik as best-in-the-world territory.
  • Chocolate Ganache – It is dense, glossy and unapologetically rich.
  • Tiramisu – Its coffee-soaked layers, light mascarpone, and that familiar bittersweet finish that makes you pause between bites.
