With an outburst of tourism in Goa, keeping the beaches clean is becoming a task. That’s why Drishti Marine, a private agency, is adopting a new and quirky way for beach cleanliness.

What Is It?

Goa’s government is actively trying to keep the beaches clean. Last week, they passed a law that drinking in public places is banned and will be fined up to ₹3000 and the imprisoned up to 3 months. But now a private beach management agency called Drishti Marine is making sure the beaches remain clean by introducing the concept of a waste-bar! Basically, you can get a free beer if you submit 10 beer bottle caps or 20 smoked cigarette butts at Zanzibar shack in Baga. This project started from 30th Jan, 2019 and is expected to run twice a month on Calangute – Candolim beach between 4 PM to 6 PM.

Bars

It started off at Zanzibar shack in Baga beach but a lot of pop-up bars will be opening up during these activities. The concept will be a win-win for everyone. The society will be more involved in the beach cleaning process and they’ll get rewarded with beer as well!

As Goa attracts millions of tourists each year, preserving the environment becomes a priority. For this initiative, Drishti Marine is inviting locals and tourists to participate and help improve the beaches in Goa.
