Residents at Abu Dhabi’s Al Maqta area can now avail free bus services, thanks to the Transport department’s new initiative.

What’s It?

If you’re residing in Abu Dhabi’s Al Maqta area, we have some good news for you! The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Transport (DoT) in Abu Dhabi has launched a free hail and ride bus service for residents in the area. How cool is that!

The service will cover two routes in the city. The first service starts from Al Khor, heading to the DoT headquarters, and back to Al Khor. The service also has a pit stop at a bus top on Road 22 in Al Maqta. The second service is also from Al Khor to DoT headquarters and them heads towards the Cooperative Society Supermarket before heading back to Al Khor.

Residents can avail the services every 15 minutes during peak hours and every 30 minutes on regular hours. And Al Maqta is not the first area to get the free service. The service aims at improving the Public Transport Network by facilitating the daily transport of the public.

What Else?

Earlier, a hail and ride service was launched in Mussafah for free from 6 am to 10 pm daily within specified routes. And that’s not all! You can now travel from Dubai to Muscat in AED 55, thanks to RTA’s all-new, daily Dubai-Muscat bus service!
