Al Etihad Street is the main route that connects Sharjah and Dubai. As a result, there is always traffic on this road, which is hardly surprising. However, the road enhancement project undertaken by the Sharjah Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) have seem to have improved the service. Here’s all you need to know about this road enhancement project that now stands completed.

Sharjah RTA Announces Completion Of Road Enhancement On

The Sharjah RTA took to Twitter on Monday, May 29, to announce that the project for road enhancement on Etihad Street has now been completed. According to this post, they revealed that the traffic improvement project aimed to increase the capacity of commuters travelling between Sharjah and Dubai. As such, it also involved adding a 600 metres lane and even modifying service road sidewalks. Not to mention, parking spaces have also been added to enhance the traffic experience.

It Will Make Life Easier For Commuters

It’s worth mentioning that the Sharjah RTA has also been actively promoting drivers’ awareness programmes to prevent traffic accidents. Moreover, recently, Abu Dhabi police also introduced a new road alert system that uses different coloured lights system to warn drivers against any upcoming traffic incidents or even adverse weather conditions. Coming back to Sharjah, with the completion of this project, many people who travel daily on this route for work purposes have welcomed the completion. In a report by Khaleej Times, it was revealed that people are happy with this development and they feel it will now become easier for them to make an exit from the highway. Moreover, it will also help in the movement of traffic on the route!
