From sustainability to innovation, cocktails continue to evolve. Whether you prefer a classic Negroni or a cutting-edge molecular creation, the world of cocktails offers something for everyone. As we step into this new era, the world of mixology continues to push boundaries. This year, the focus is on the nexus between sustainability and technology. Bacardi India focuses on five cocktail trends that could influence the direction of the Indian cocktail scene.
Here Are The Cocktail Trends
1. Sustainable Sips
Sustainable practices have permeated every aspect of our lives, and cocktails are no exception. A staggering 94% of consumers are willing to pay extra for cocktails and spirits that are produced sustainably, according to the Bacardi Cocktail Trends Report 2024. This indicates that the alcobev industry is seeing a consumer-driven green revolution. Using recyclable packaging, removing single-use plastic, and ensuring business operations have a minimal carbon impact are some of the themes customers are most concerned about when buying spirits.
2. What’s On The Trend?
Craftsmanship is king in the world of cocktails. According to the report, 42% of participants said they like to sip drinks that are visually appealing and suitable for social sharing. The most popular factors that prompt consumers to snap pictures of their drinks and share them on social media include vibrant hues, unusual settings, and flavour explosions.
3. Artisanal Everything
Craftsmanship is king in the world of cocktails, where artisanal spirits, house-made syrups, and handcrafted bitters reign supreme. Customers also placed a higher priority on the ingredients in their cocktails: 49% stressed the significance of the alcohol percentage, and 44% said that the drink’s calorie value was a deciding factor.

4. Personal Fusion
Drinks have evolved into an extension of personal identity as consumer awareness of mixology culture and the variety of cocktail options rises. According to 75% of respondents, if a drink fits their beliefs and attitude and complements their unique aesthetic and style, they would be willing to pay extra for it. Most respondents said they would rather drink fewer drinks overall but choose better cocktails.
5. Variety Drinks
Indian customers are continuing the trend of experimenting with drinks. Traditional drinks like Bloody Mary, Whisky and Coke, and Gin & Tonic led the way, followed by more specialized options like Mojito, Espresso Martini, and Tequila Sunrise. Mixers and garnishes are another area where the cocktail industry is diverse. Fruit juice, cola, and club soda are the most popular mixers, while youthful drinkers like ginger and Tabasco sauce are big fans of spiced garnishes.
