Sadly, even the biggest fans of this season are exhausted from this summer’s sweltering heat and intolerable temperatures. We need rainfall to get respite from this harsh weather. The good news is that the present weather conditions are changing and places have started to receive rain. Read on to learn the important rainfall updates nationwide.

Parts Of Delhi-NCR Enjoyed Much-Needed Rain On Thursday

Residents of Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, and Ghaziabad woke up to showers and splendid weather as several areas in these places received heavy rainfall. It surely brought a major relief after weeks of unbearable heat and horrifying heatwaves. India Meteorological Department (IMD) already predicted rainfall in parts of the capital city throughout the day.

There are expectations for light to moderate-intensity rain and thunderstorms. In addition to this, isolated areas are likely to receive heavy-intensity rainfall and winds with a speed of 20 km/h to 40 km/h in Delhi-NCR, Panipat, Gohana, Gannaur, Sonipat, and nearby places, as shared by RWFC New Delhi on X.

Though it has started to rain in Delhi, the monsoon season is still yet to make a grand entry here. According to a report by NDTV, it is likely that the monsoon will reach the capital city by this week-end. It is expected to begin by June 29 or June 30.

Rainfall Updates In Other Parts Of India

IMD issued a press release on Wednesday stating the rainfall predictions for multiple places in India in the next few days. Coastal Karnataka, south interior Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, East Rajasthan, Bihar, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Goa, Konkan, and Northeastern states are likely to receive isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall. According to a report by Hindustan Times, the department has also issued warnings for the change in weather.

Heavy rainfall will likely lash Goa, coastal Karnataka, and South Maharashtra on June 27. Arunachal Pradesh may receive rainfall during the night hours. On June 28, there are chances for heavy to very heavy rain in Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Kandla Port, and some areas in Assam and West Bengal, according to a report by The Weather Channel.
