Honey Singh Shared How He Got Into The World Of Rapping From Playing Tabla

We started our street food hopping session with Chandru’s Pure Ghee Sweets. We were proud to introduce Honey Singh to some of the bestselling pani puri and sev puri. Hailing from Delhi and being a hardcore Delhi launda, he loved these food items.

No, we are not kidding; he loved it so much that he praised Mumbai’s pani puri! Seems a little controversial for all his Delhi fans. Coming back to his discussion with Arohi, Honey Singh told us that he played the tabla during morning assemblies conducted in his school.

Then, he shifted to producing music till 2011. He told us that he created music for multiple artists and won awards for it too. He knew that it was time he tried making music for himself because he started to pen down lyrics.

In this way, his popular song ‘Brown Rang’ happened and was an instant hit. He summed it all up by saying and we quote, “Phir dukan chal padi!” He meant that his music career started to flourish. Since then, he hasn’t looked back and we all appreciate it.

We were curious to learn about his inspirations behind such catchy and popular lyrics. He told us that he tried to connect to the younger generation by understanding youth culture and psychology. He has great observation skills which he then goes on to articulate in his lyrics. Hence, his songs are so relatable.
