According to an article which was recently published by Mid-Day, this move was approved at a recent annual general body meeting of the Mandal. As per an anonymous senior member of the Mandal, the membership will be renewed every year with the approval of the General Body.

It is important to note that this is not the first time that such an honourary membership has been granted. Prior to the billionaire businessman’s son, veteran journalist Kiran Nabar was also granted a similar honourary membership. However, this is the first time since his passing that such a membership has been issued.

If reports are to go by, Anant Ambani has been involved in Mandal activities for a long time. Now, the committee has officially granted an honourary membership to the son of the billionaire businessman.

The Ambani family, too, has been a frequent visitor at the Lalbaugcha Raja pandal and has been a source of unwavering support to the committee. During the coronavirus pandemic, there was a shortage of funds for charity. The Ambani family provided the needful assistance.

The manual was furnished with close to 24 dialysis machines from the Reliance Foundation. They also contributed to the Rugna Sahaya Nidhi Yojana. Given the Ambani family’s consistent support, the committee made Anant Ambani an honourary member.
