People around the world enjoy their brunches with a lavish feast. And at Curly Tales, we also spend our time with the greatest minds. On this episode of Sunday Brunch, we have with us a motivational speaker, lifestyle coach, and, most importantly, an Indian monk. You guessed it right. Our guest is none other than Guruji Gaur Gopal Das. With our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, this episode is dedicated to New Year lessons and a little insight into his life as a monk.

Early Childhood Of Gaur Gopal Das

Speaking from his life experience, Gaur Gopal Das tells that humans don’t go through many emotions. It is more or less the same. When Kamiya Jani asked him about his childhood and what kind of upbringing he had, Guruji replied that he lived in a small town near Pune. According to his parents, Gaur Gopal Das had a normal upbringing and childhood, but he disagrees and says it was different. He recalls that he had absolutely no interest in playing sports or any other physical activity for that matter. Also, he wasn’t interested in going out or meeting friends. He was more of a thinker.

Gaur Gopal Das explains his way of dressing as something that is a part of living a monastic life. Like Buddhist monks wear the same dress as his holiness Dalai Lama. Saffron clothing is what monks in his faith wear. And when he decided to be a monk, he was given this attire, and has been wearing it for almost twenty-six years. He further explains the term ‘decision fatigue’ where you are given a hundred choices and it is overwhelming. By the grace of God, he got rid of one of the choices to make.
