We all know the struggle that goes behind getting that perfect Instagram picture. And it is no easy task. I personally take a hundred pictures before I settle for a single picture and even then I only upload it to get my share of validation on social media when it has gone through some serious editing. And it is not just about how good you look in the picture, the premise and the background of the picture matter a great deal. I mean, there has got to be something that sets apart your picture from the rest of the images that get uploaded on the gram on a daily basis. But did you know that there are people who help frame these pictures better? Confused? Well, so were we until we heard about the particular incident of the pigeons in Chiang Mai in Thailand.
How Are Pigeons Involved In Getting Good Instagram Pictures?
In a curious case, tourists have been paying locals near the Tha Pae Gate in Chiang Mai, Thailand to scare the pigeons that reside there to give you a candid picture of the glorious birds as they take flight around you. I know it sounds really funny but the pictures turn out really great. If someone asked me to scare birds and if I got paid for it, honestly I wouldn’t be on board. A little background on the place, the gate is always thronged by lots of pigeons who lounge around by the sidewalk. Given some incentive and if you scare them enough, they will most definitely take flight. And if you want to become a “pigeon spooker”, all you need to do is wave flags and flounder around to make them flutter their wings. But because these birds can be a nuisance, pigeon spookers are now being arrested and charged close to $650 as a fine.

And this is not the first instance of using pigeons for pictures that I have seen. In Milan, when you go around to visit the Duomo, you will find lots of people with bird feed standing around and throwing it at you for a price so that the pigeons come and sit on you.
We aren’t big fans of pigeons flying around us but it sounds like a fun photo op!
