Nepal is one of the most beautiful countries, and even if you have visited it once, there are chances you might not have explored many of its lesser-known places. Now, a new tourism project is expected to make eastern Nepal more popular among travellers. Scroll down to learn more!

What Is The Laligurans Trail Tourism Project In Nepal?

Nepal has now come up with the Laligurans Trail Tourism Project. According to Travel and Tour World report, under this project, a new trekking route across Tehrathum and Sankhuwasabha districts in Koshi Province is being planned. With this, authorities want travellers to experience nature, local culture and adventure activities in one place. At the same time, the project aims to benefit local people and protect the area’s natural surroundings.

The project was launched in 2024 and is expected to be completed by 2028. It will connect 12 local government areas, including Laligurans, Myanglung, Phedap, Dharmadevi, Madi, Chainpur, Panchkhapan, Sabhapokhari, Makalu, Chichila, Khandbari and Silichong.

What To Expect From This Route?

Along the way, you can enjoy: 

  • Rhododendron forests and hills
  • Lakes and waterfalls
  • Scenic spots like Tin Jure Danda and Milke Danda
  • Gupha Pokhara, Rat Pokhara and Dhan Pokhara
  • The stunning Hyatrung Waterfall
  • Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse and Everest

The project will make trekking easier with better paths, stone steps, resting areas, toilets, drinking water and signboards. Adventure lovers can enjoy activities like paragliding, bungee jumping, zip-lining, rafting, kayaking and mountain biking. Homestays will let visitors experience local culture and traditions.
