Goa Launches Application For Tourist Safety On Beaches

Goa is one of the most beautiful states in India and is the most popular one as well. Recently, Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister of Goa launched an application named ‘Beach Vigil App’. There are institutions of tourism department that manage beaches of Goa and in order to make them more effective and efficient, Beach Vigil App is launched by the government of Goa. 

Opening Avenues With Collaborations Of IT With Tourism

With the help of this application, it is possible to immediately file a complaint about illegal activities, services, cleanliness, and more with the tourism department and its workers. According to Rohan Khaunte, Minister of IT and Tourism in Goa, the application is intended to be a strong tool for law enforcement and other parties involved in safeguarding tourists. Pramod Sawant said that the collaboration of IT with Tourism will actually open up many avenues in the future. Khaunte informed that the application will help people to report everything from illegal massage services to illegal hawkers to beach cleanliness.

Boosting Tourism Safeguarding Tourists

In recent decades, India has recorded an increase of 70.7 per cent in rape-related crimes, and Goa has seen an increase of 559.4 per cent and 5.6 times greater than the national average. The Government is taking the number into consideration and wishes to curb these incidents with timely reporting through the ‘Beach Vigil App’. This will for sure empower female tourists and female solo travellers safeguarding their interests. There is a boom in the tourism sector post-Covid and Goa tops the list so with this app the tourism too will boost as people will feel much safe.
