If you’re a foodie or an Otaku, chances are that you are dying to visit Japan. Well, visiting this amazing nation just became a whole lot easier! Japan is now issuing eVisas to tourists who have Indian passports. That’s right! You no longer have to get a physical Visa sticker on your passport. Here are all of the important details that you would need to know about this new eVisa for Indian passport holders.
Japan Is Now Issuing eVisas To Indian Passport Holders
According to an article which was recently published by the Economic Times or ET, this new rule came into effect from April 1 onwards. This move has been much-anticipated as it will make travelling to the country easier.
Owing to this new programme, Indian passport holders will be able to apply electronically for an eVisa via the Japan Visa Application Centers by Visa Facilitation Services or VFS Global. This programme is primarily for tourists.
It will be valid for short periods of time for a single entry. You can stay for up to 90 days in Japan with this eVisa. Non-Residential Indians or NRIs, too, are eligible to apply for this eVisa.
Here Is How You Can Use The eVisa Upon Arrival
It is important to note that upon arrival in Japan, tourists will have to exhibit the Visa Issuance Notice for this. An Internet connection is crucial for doing this. No other format like pictures, PDF, etc., will be accepted upon entry.
Here’s how you can display the Visa Issuance Notice: –
- You’ll have to scan the two-dimensional barcode on the Visa Issuance Notice given to you by your travel agency with your device.
- Enter the information required.
- Tap ‘Display’. Make sure that the timer at the corner of your screen goes off as it proves the validity of your Visa Issuance Notice.
