Recently, Guinness World Records shared on social media which showed more than 700 men belonging to the Karbi tribe in Assam setting the world record for stilt walking. Guinness World Records Shares Video Of Karbi Tribesmen

Guinness World Records recently took to their social media accounts and shared a video of a long line of men from the Karbi tribe of Assam walking on stilts. According to an article which was recently published by the Hindustan Times or HT, this stilt-walking is locally known as Kang Dong Dang.

The line consisted of as many as 721 participants who formed a single moving line while walking on stilts. The line stretched as long as two kilometres and the participants were recorded to be on stilts for ten minutes.

Thus, they created a new world record for the longest moving line of people on stilts. This practice of stilt-walking is deeply rooted in their culture and is passed down from generation to generation. It was undoubtedly an incredible milestone for the tribe.
