The Guinness World Records recently took to their Instagram and shared a throwback video of the world’s tallest ice cream being made. This was in Norway and the company that made the ice cream, Hennig-Olsen, is run by a family. The giant ice cream cone was made almost a decade ago and was distributed to locals, children especially. According to an article which was recently published by NDTV, this particular ice cream weighs close to a tonne. Furthermore, it also has the capacity to hold 1,080 litres of ice cream! The record was set almost a decade ago in 2015.
The video that Guinness World Records shared showed the making of the giant ice cream cone. The workers of Hennig-Olsen used a gigantic steel mould to give shape to the cone. They then lined it with chocolate and filled the cone with ice cream.
The amazing part was, apart from the giant ice cream, that it was airlifted by a helicopter for transportation! Imagine being a kid in a crowd watching a giant ice cream in the sky! It would have been a fascinating sight to behold!
Other Important Details About This Important World Record
The company is run by a family and Paal Hennig-Olsen, who is the third-generation owner of the company said that he was elated at the achievement. The ice cream cone was more than 10 feet tall and was distributed among locals afterwards.
The fact that they could share their achievement with everyone was quite special to them, as per their project manager. The video also showed glimpses of kids enjoying the giant ice cream with giant smiles on their faces.
