PM Narendra Modi has begun a two-day visit to Gujarat to celebrate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. This special day marks the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. This year is extra special, as it celebrates Sardar Patel’s 150th birth anniversary, and the Prime Minister is leading the celebrations at the majestic Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar, Kevadia.
PM Modi Launches ₹1,140 Crore Projects In Gujarat
The visit is not just about paying tribute to one of India’s greatest leaders but also about highlighting how his vision for a united and progressive India continues to guide the country today. According to Telangana Today, PM Modi will lay the foundation for ₹1,140 crore worth of development projects that will improve the infrastructure surrounding the Statue of Unity, boost tourism, and promote sustainability.
In Ekta Nagar, PM Modi will begin his visit and take part in the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas festivities. He will first present Sardar Patel with flowers at the Statue of Unity before administering the Ekta pledge, which will reaffirm India’s unity as a nation.
The highlight of the day will be a grand Ekta Diwas Parade, featuring units from India’s top security forces, BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, and SSB, along with various state police forces. To make the 150th birth anniversary even more memorable, PM Modi will release a special ₹150 commemorative coin and a postage stamp dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Telangana Today reported.
Big Boost To Development Around The Statue Of Unity

PM Modi’s visit will also mark the launch of major development projects that aim to make Ekta Nagar one of India’s most attractive and sustainable tourist destinations. Some of the most important initiatives being started are:
- According to Telangana Today, higher education and tribal community empowerment will be the top priorities of Birsa Munda Tribal University in Rajpipla.
- A new hub for boosting tourism, Garudeshwar’s Hospitality District (Phase-1) will generate employment locally.
- Vaman Vriksha Vatika and the Satpuda Protection Wall will safeguard biodiversity and the environment.
- The Narmada Ghat Extension, Kaushalya Path, and Smart Bus Stops (Phase-2) will enhance local connectivity and visitor mobility.
- A Dam Replica Fountain and a beautifully designed walkway from Ekta Dwar to Shreshtha Bharat Bhavan, which will give visitors a more scenic and engaging experience.
In addition to inaugurating new projects, PM Modi will also lay foundation stones for several major upcoming developments around the Statue of Unity. Among these are:
- The Museum of Royal Kingdoms of India will showcase the grandeur and legacy of India’s many royal dynasties.
- A sports complex and Veer Balak Udyan will encourage and involve young people.
- The Statue of Unity complex will soon have travelators that will allow visitors to explore the area comfortably
In addition to introducing these enormous projects, PM Modi’s trip to Gujarat is a celebration of all that Sardar Patel stood for.
