Gurugram To Get Lykli By IKEA In 2025; First Mixed-Retail Centre In The Country

IKEA, the Swedish company that has its biggest store in Hyderabad, has received a lot of love and acceptance from India. The company is known for its low-priced goods, which are sold in compact “flat-pack” form. It has been mentioned that the first store will be opened in India’s Gurugram in 2025.

In June 2021, the group’s shopping centre division, Ingka Centres, revealed plans for a 130,000-square-metre mixed-use building in Gurugram that will be anchored by IKEA and cost Rs 3,500 crore (€400 million).

According to an important statement from the parent company, Lykli will have a shopping centre with global and local brands. But not only this, but it will also have entertainment and dining facilities. Adding to this, they will also have spaces for community events and offices.

In the beginning of 2023, the company announced that the first tenant at Lykli in Gurugram was PVR. As part of a leisure offer, a nine-screen movie multiplex will be housed here.

Anna Larsen, Global Marketing Manager, Ingka Centres, said that shopping malls are considered places to shop. The company, with its new brand, is all set to challenge this outdated concept and convert these malls into wholesome destinations.

Here, people can actually play, recharge, nurture community, and build emotional connections. Lykli will complete its promise by directly speaking to the people in its own unique way.

The company mentioned that it is expecting to attract more than 20 million people, when it announced the upcoming centre.

With an investment of €500 million, they will be opening another centre in Noida. This centre will make its debut in India at a time when India’s retail landscape is all set to surge at an annual growth rate of 29 percent. (As per CNBC Tv18)
