“How Dare You Touch Me?” Says TC At Mumbai Local Train Station After Woman Plays “Victim Card”

Local trains in Mumbai see a heavy rush every day. They are one of the most used modes of transport for daily commutes in the city. A recent video from one of the local train stations has gone viral online. It shows a woman screaming and shouting at a senior ticket checker after being asked to show her ticket. Here’s what unfolded at the station and what netizens are saying.

Woman Travelling Ticketless On Mumbai Local Train

A video recently reposted by an X user, @gharkekalesh, is grabbing a lot of attention online. It shows a woman shouting at a ticket checker at a Mumbai local train station. According to the post, the woman was travelling without a valid ticket and was caught by a senior TC. When confronted, instead of paying the ticket, she became angry. She reportedly grabbed the TC’s collar and began shouting at him.

The post also mentioned that the woman “went full victim mode”, yelled fake harassment allegations, and behaved aggressively with the official. In the video, the senior official can be heard saying, “How dare you touch me?” He also accused her of taking advantage of being a woman. Despite this, the woman continued arguing and refused to pay for the ticket.

Netizens React To The Video

Netizens had mixed reactions to the viral video. One user wrote, “Classic case of playing the victim after breaking the rules, no ticket, no accountability, just loud drama. False accusations like this don’t empower women; they destroy trust and shame genuine victims.” Another commented, “It’s abuse of the system.”

A user also pointed out how important it is to have female TTE staff handle such situations. According to a report by News18, the matter did not end there. A woman ticket checker and a female RPF staff member were called to the spot. The woman was then taken to the RPF office. She later accepted that she was travelling without a valid ticket and apologised for her behaviour. Officials collected a fine of ₹260 from her before closing the matter.
