How To Reach Jaisalmer Without Flying? Here’s A Guide

Jaisalmer, the ‘Golden City’ is one of the most beautiful places in our country. Located in the heart of the Thar desert, Jaisalmer has emerged as one of the most stunning places to visit for the crowd. It attracts a huge number of tourists every year for a long time. Surrounded by the golden magic of the desert, rich in history and heritage, the city is people’s favourite for its fort, lake, sand dunes, food, and a lot more.

The best part about Jaisalmer is that it is pretty much reachable from most corners of India. Also, it is well connected to other touristy cities of Rajasthan like Jaipur, Bikaner, and Jodhpur by both rail and road. Flight tickets are not always the ultimate option for every traveller. But don’t you worry if you want to reach the city only by rail and road. Here’s a simple guide on how to reach Jaisalmer without flying.

By Train

The Jaisalmer railway station is located 2 km to the east of the city. Also, the station is well connected with major Indian cities such as New Delhi, Jaipur, Agra, Jodhpur, and Mumbai. Direct trains to Jaisalmer can be found from cities like Delhi and Jaipur at one’s fingertips. Jaisalmer Express and Jodhpur Jaisalmer Express are the most accessible trains from the capital. Also, autos and rickshaws are easily found outside the railway station.
