The Hyderabad-Vijayawada Expressway is a 247 km long highway connecting Vijayawada and Hyderabad and was opened to the public in October 2012. It is one of the busiest highways in India and is a part of National Highway 65. The authorities are planning to widen the Hyderabad-Vijayawada Expressway to reduce the travel time.
Hyderabad-Vijayawada Expressway To Be Widened Into A 6-Lane Highway
The Minister of Roads and Buildings, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, stated that the government in Telangana will place a high premium on enlarging and upgrading the Hyderabad-Vijayawada Expressway in order to shorten the travel time between the two cities.
He informed media representatives that the administration would concentrate on projects related to Hyderabad-Vijayawada to cut down on the travel time to two and a half hours after assuming leadership as the minister at the Dr B. R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat.
He promised to visit with Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in Delhi and ask for his approval to expand the Hyderabad-Vijayawada route to six lanes. Further, he announced that he would travel to New Delhi on Monday in order to speak with Gadkari on the Telangana highway projects and to tender his resignation as a member of the Lok Sabha.
He promised to ask the Centre to designate 14 state routes as national highways. These consist of Regional Rong Road (RRR) South-Choutuppal-Amangal-Shadnagar-Sangareddy and Mallepally-Nalgonda. He would also advocate for the addition of four lanes to the National Highway 765 segment between Hyderabad and Kalwakurthy.
Additionally, he would ask the Centre to raise Telangana’s Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) allocation. He approved the ₹100 crore four-laning of the Nalgonda-Mushampally-Dharmapuram road in the Nalgonda district as soon as he took office.

These Roads Will Be Improved
At an estimated cost of ₹4.15 crore, the Lingampally-Dudyal road in the Vikarabad district would be improved. The upgrading of the Nalgonda town limits will be undertaken as part of the balance works of the Nakrekal-Nagarjuna Sagar Road.
He claimed that throughout the previous ten years, the BRS government paid little attention to the building of highways. According to the minister, a significant tourism destination will be created around the Assembly grounds. It includes the Public Gardens that are close by.
He declared that the Legislative Council meetings would be held in the historic Assembly building after it had been repaired. He said that old buildings of all parties will be razed to make room for new construction and that Lalita Kala Thoranam to the Public Garden will be beautified.
In the next few days, he would be visiting the area alongside Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the chairman of the Legislative Council, and other officials. According to Venkat Reddy, officials have been told to fix all of the highways within the following month.
According to the minister, the government is still determined to honour all six of the promises made to the public within 100 days. He asserted that ladies all across the world were expressing gratitude for the Mahalakshmi initiative.
