An integral part of the activation is the impressive mangrove viewing platform. First and foremost, beyond showcasing the scenic beauty of mangroves, it delves into the profound connection between climate and nature in the UAE. Notably, recognized as formidable allies against climate change, mangroves possess the unique ability to extract carbon emissions from the atmosphere. What’s more, it stores them within their structures and the soil beneath. Furthermore, beyond their ecological significance, mangroves serve as havens for threatened marine species and birds, playing a crucial role in safeguarding the UAE coastline from the perils of flooding and sea-level rise.

Notably, this activation is not just an awareness-raising platform; it’s a catalyst for positive action. Visitors are provided with tangible avenues to contribute to the protection and restoration of nature in the UAE. Furthermore, scannable QR codes strategically placed at the activation offer a direct link to donating to Emirates Nature-WWF’s local conservation efforts. As a result, these donations support initiatives spanning nature preservation, wildlife protection, climate action, and improved access to food and water, thereby presenting a comprehensive approach to sustainability.

The activation extends beyond virtual participation. Visitors are invited to actively engage in on-the-ground initiatives, such as mangrove clean-ups and sapling plantations. These events are organized by Leaders of Change, an annual membership program by Emirates Nature-WWF. This program goes beyond rhetoric, empowering individuals to actively participate in implementing green solutions within the UAE.
