In order to encourage the people of Bengaluru to use public transport more, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited or the BMRCL is issuing a special paper ticket. This particular ticket will be priced a flat ₹30 and can be purchased from the Lalbagh Metro Station.

It will allow the passenger to travel to any other metro station without incurring any other cost. This paper ticket will be available from the 13th of August, 10 AM onwards and will continue till the 15th of August. These tickets will be valid for the entirety of the day on which they were bought.

This means that between the 13th and 15th of August, Bangaloreans will be able to travel from the Lalbagh Metro station to any other metro station in just ₹30!

The iconic flower show at Lalbagh’s Botanical Gardens happens twice every year. The first happens on the Republic Day of India, which is on the 26th of January, and the other happens on Independence Day.

The flower show has been witnessing an increasing number of people each year and this usually leads to a traffic jam in the Lalbagh area. In order to tackle this problem the BMRCL has come up with this creative solution. By reducing the price of Metro tickets, the BMRCL is encouraging people to use public transport more.

This will reduce traffic congestion on the road and will allow for smoother traffic flow.
