The India International Trade Fair is back on a bigger and grander scale. With over 3500 exhibitors participating, 200 Geographical Indications (GIs) product displayed, there’s lots to look forward to at the trade fair held in Delhi’s Pragati Maidan from November 14 to 27. India Kickstarts India International Trade Fair 2023

According to a report by Hindustan Times, the most popular annual fair in Delhi, the India International Trade Fair will encourage visitors to go cashless this year. Krishan Kumar, deputy general manager, India Trade Promotion stated to HT that they are encouraging everyone to go cashless to align the fair with the Digital India initiative.

This year, visitors can also book their tickets online in addition to buying physical tickets available at 55 metro stations across Delhi-NCR. In Krishan Kumar’s words, cashless transactions are easier and seamless and visitors are encouraged to opt for this instead of cash transactions. The theme of  IITF 2023  is “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – United by Trade”.

GI-Pavilion: The Highlight Of The Year

Another highlight of the 42nd India International Trade Fair is the largest Geographical Indication (GI) Pavilion. There are over 200 unique Geographical Indications (GIs) products exhibited and over 600 exhibitors from 28 states and Union Territories participating at the GI Pavilion. Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Som Parkash inaugurated the pavilion on November 15 for public viewing.

The GI products range from food to handicrafts to agriculture to handloom, catering to the interests of different age groups. All GI products have special characteristics and qualities attributed to geographical origin. Visitors can witness live demonstrations of traditional artworks like Worli painting, Gond painting, Odisha Pattachitra, Shamphee Lanphee and more by Padma Shri and National awardees. How wonderful is it to interact with skilled artists who are incredible in their art forms!

International Pavilions & Kids Zones

Even children can entertain themselves at the Kids Play Zone which has a fun combination of physical and digital activities. Indian Railways also has a pavilion that shows its commitment towards Net Zero Carbon emission. It also goes on to show the footprints it has left across the world by exporting locos, DEMU trains and coaches. The Railways’ pavilion has interactive quizzes for young minds and videos showing the scenic beauty of Indian Railways.

You can also visit 20 international pavilions exhibited by countries like Nepal, Thailand, Lebanon, Iran, Vietnam, Egypt, Tunisia, Kyrgyzstan, Turkiye, and UAE. It’s one of the largest trade exhibitions with both B2B and B2C components. A melting pot of cultures await you at India International Trade Fair 2023. There’s bhangra, delicious litti chokha, Kashmiri Pashmina shawls and Kerala’s coir craft and much more.
