When Rajeev Khandelwal invited Kamiya Jani into his home on Sunday Brunch, the conversation very quickly moved beyond celebrity homes and beautiful interiors. The house itself, called Jannat, already carries a story. Rajeev revealed that years ago, while watching Shah Rukh Khan build Mannat, he had imagined owning a home one day that would feel just as special to him. That dream stayed with him long enough to become real. But the most striking part of the episode was not the architecture or décor; it was the space above the kitchen.
Rajeev Khandelwal’s Kitchen Garden Is Winning Hearts
Rajeev took Kamiya Jani upstairs to a kitchen garden he has personally worked on over time, and the pride on his face was impossible to miss. This was not one of those decorative celebrity gardens with two herbs in matching pots. The place felt useful. Kale was growing there, so were palak and lauki. He explained that the family genuinely follows a farm-to-fork way of living as much as possible, and you could tell this was something woven into their everyday routine.
At one point, Rajeev Khandelwal plucked a few leaves and turned the visit into a guessing game. He asked Kamiya to smell them and identify what they were. One was a paan leaf, another was allspice. Kamiya laughed through her failed guesses while Rajeev looked completely at home discussing the scent and texture of plants as if he had been doing this forever!
And maybe he has.

He spoke about how natural gardening feels to him because of the way he grew up in a small town. As a child, growing plants and being around open land was simply normal life. That is why Mumbai still surprises him sometimes. He mentioned, half-amused and half genuinely shocked, that people in the city are often fascinated to discover that lauki grows on trees. For him, that disconnect from nature feels stranger than the plant itself.
What stayed after the episode ended was not just the image of a beautiful home called Jannat, but the feeling that Rajeev has built a life that still remembers where it came from.
