Ganesh Chaturthi in India has everyone visiting pandals and Ganpati temples. People also celebrate this festival by making Ganpati idols with different items like food and natural stones, or adorning them with gold and silver. One such unique form of Ganpati recently came to our notice from Ujjain, where the idol was adorned with turmeric. Scroll down to know more! 

Ganpati Idol In Ujjain Adorned With Turmeric

Lots of videos are going viral online showing a unique form of Ganpati in Ujjain. The Ganpati in the video is the iconic Mahakal Van Ke Yuvraj. The video begins with authorities removing the red cloth from Bappa to reveal the murti, leaving everyone surprised. The 22-foot-tall idol was covered with 350 kg of turmeric. 

Why Was Bappa Covered In Turmeric? 

Devotees covered the Ganpati idol in Ujjain with 350 kg of turmeric to represent the divine Haridra Ganesha form. It is the 21st form of Lord Ganesha among 32 traditional forms. The bright yellow Haridra Ganesha form represents an auspicious form of Bappa and makes this pandal a must-visit during Ganesh Chaturthi.

Iconic Mahakal Van Ke Yuvraj In Ujjain

The nearest airport is Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport in Indore, around 55 km away. By train, you can get down at Ujjain Junction and take an auto, e-rickshaw or taxi to Mahakal Chouraha.
