Some cafés are built around a menu, while others are built around a mood. Maverick & Farmer’s newest address in Bengaluru seems to be chasing something bigger altogether, which is…*drumroll please*…an entire ecosystem built around coffee.
Bengaluru Gets Massive 9,000 Sq Ft Coffee Experience Centre
Sitting on Kothanur Main Road in North Bengaluru, the specialty coffee brand, Maverick & Farmer, has unveiled its largest space yet; a sprawling 9,000 sq. ft. experience centre that feels more like a destination. Housed inside a restored residence, the property unfolds across multiple levels and brings together a live roastery, coffee academy, retail store, podcast studio, conference room, community centre, and a café made for people who are in no hurry to leave.
You notice the coffee before you see it. The smell of freshly roasted beans hangs in the air, drifting through sunlit rooms lined with terracotta finishes, brick textures, plants, and expansive glass panels. Somewhere in the background, roasting machines are at work! Conversations bounce across tables, and laptops stay open for hours.
At the centre of the experience is the roastery itself. Set inside a dramatic triple-height volume and visible through a glass partition from several parts of the café, it turns coffee roasting into a marvellous and delightful experience. Visitors can watch beans transform in real time as colour, aroma, and flavour develop batch by batch.
The roastery also houses a dedicated section for Southeast Asian Kopi, a traditional Hainanese-style coffee. The equipment used for this process wasn’t imported from abroad; it was designed by Maverick & Farmer’s own team. Guests curious about the craft can sign up for guided roastery tours, though advance bookings are recommended.

WAIT! It’s An Entire Coffee Ecosystem
Coffee, of course, remains the main character!
The brand sources beans from estates across India, with a strong focus on its Nellikad Estate in Coorg. Arabica and Robusta beans undergo a range of experimental processing methods including cold-smoking, honey sun-drying, and customised fruit fermentations.
Among the standout offerings is Parama, a chocolate-and-caramel-forward house blend created by legendary coffee expert Sunalini Menon. Then there’s Sunkissed, an award-winning honey sun-dried specialty Robusta; Ol’ Smoky, which the brand describes as the world’s first cold-smoked coffee; and Rohan Bopanna’s Masterblend, a single-estate Arabica sourced from the tennis star’s Coorg estate.
The beverage menu reflects the same spirit of experimentation. Alongside familiar brews, guests can order drinks such as the Clarified Cappuccino, Spresso Citron, and Maverick Mazagran. While many specialty coffee brands borrow brews from global café culture, Maverick & Farmer has turned towards Indian ingredients and regional flavours.
