India’s Rampur Whisky Lands In 4 Major UK Airports, From Heathrow To Birmingham

Scotch has officially got some company on its own turf. Radico Khaitan has brought its Indian luxury whisky portfolio to four major UK airports, with Rampur and Sangam now available at duty-free stores across Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham.

Rampur Whisky Arrives At UK Airports With Rampur & Sangam

The move puts Indian whisky right in the middle of one of the world’s biggest travel-shopping markets. And yes, there is something deliciously ironic about Indian single malts turning up in the home of Scotch.

The brands making the trip include Rampur Indian Single Malt Double Cask, Rampur Asava, Rampur Barrel Blush and Sangam World Malt. For travellers flying through these airports, that means Indian whisky is no longer something they need to discover after landing back home. It can now be picked up somewhere between passport control, perfume counters and the inevitable airport coffee.

Indian Whisky Meets The Home Of Scotch

The numbers make the expansion even more interesting. Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham collectively handled more than 170 million passengers in 2025. Heathrow alone accounted for approximately 84.5 million, followed by Gatwick at 42.8 million, Manchester at 32.1 million and Birmingham at 13.7 million.

That is a lot of travellers getting a chance to encounter Indian whisky before boarding their flights.

Radico Khaitan’s International Business President, Sanjeev Banga, summed up the idea perfectly when he said, “Indian whisky does not need to compete with Scotch to have a place in the conversation. It simply needs to get a seat at the table, or, in this case, on the airport shelf.” 

And the portfolio has quite the story to tell. Rampur Indian Single Malt is made at the Rampur Distillery, established in 1943, where the Himalayan foothills influence the whisky’s maturation. The UK selection includes expressions such as Double Cask, Asava and Barrel Blush, each taking a different route with Indian single malt.

The timing also comes during a strong run for Radico Khaitan. The company recorded approximately ₹6,050 crore in net revenue in FY26, while its Prestige & Above portfolio contributed 70.3% of IMFL value.

So, Indian whisky has arrived in Britain. Not quietly, either. It has picked four major airports, found itself a duty-free shelf and basically said, “Move over, we brought our own dram.”
