World Cocktail Day: If Famous Bollywood Characters Were Turned Into Signature Drinks

World Cocktail Day usually brings conversations around mixology trends, speakeasy bars, tequila shelves getting bigger by the year, and whether or not espresso martinis are genuinely good or just socially accepted caffeine dependency in a fancy glass.

But somewhere between all of that, another thought appeared; Bollywood characters would make incredible cocktails. Because certain characters already walk through films as they belong on a dramatic cocktail menu! Some feel smoky and dramatic, some are chaotic, and some look glamorous but hold emotional damage underneath the garnishes. So, for World Cocktail Day, here is a fictional bar menu inspired entirely by Bollywood personalities that audiences still quote, imitate, analyse, and occasionally defend on the internet for absolutely no reason!

Cocktail Versions Of Famous Bollywood Characters

1. Raj From DDLJ Would Be A Whiskey Sour

Raj has the personality of a drink that looks approachable until you realise there is more strength underneath than expected. That is exactly why he fits a whiskey sour!

The cocktail has existed forever, but somehow never feels outdated. Even now, decades after DDLJ was released, his charm still works on audiences who were not even born when the film first hit theatres.

A whiskey sour feels smooth and easy at first sip because of the citrus and sweetness, but the whiskey slowly takes over. Raj behaves similarly throughout the film. He enters as the carefree flirt who misses trains, jokes constantly, and irritates Simran for sport. Then suddenly, he becomes sincere, emotionally patient, and unexpectedly grounded. Also, there is something very old-school about both Raj and whiskey sours.

2. Geet From Jab We Met Is Pure Tequila Sunrise Energy

A tequila sunrise is visually impossible to ignore! It has bright gradients, cheerful presentations and holiday energy. That is Geet!

She talks fast, thinks fast and decides fast. In the first half of Jab We Met, she moves through life with the confidence of somebody who has never once doubted her own instincts. Whether she is chatting with strangers on trains or announcing life plans with dramatic certainty, Geet carries an emotional volume that completely changes the atmosphere around her.

But tequila sunrise works as a comparison for another reason, too. Underneath all the sweetness is tequila, which is sharp, strong and unpredictable. This intensity mirrors Geet’s emotional side once the film strips away her optimism and shows her heartbreak.

3. Kabir Singh Would Be A Long Island Iced Tea

No balanced bartender would recommend starting your evening with a Long Island Iced Tea. The drink is infamous for combining multiple spirits into one glass, which makes it a very accurate representation of Kabir Singh.

Everything about the character operates at emotional extremes. Anger, obsession, ego and self-destruction – it’s all in there.

A Long Island Iced Tea carries that same energy. It looks manageable. Then, halfway through, regret enters the conversation. There is also no subtlety involved. Kabir Singh does not believe in emotional moderation, and neither does this cocktail.

4. Poo From K3G Could Only Be A Cosmopolitan

Poo would never be a minimal drink! She would not tolerate invisibility in any form, including beverage form. So naturally, she is a cosmopolitan.

The cosmopolitan became iconic because it embraced glamour instead of pretending sophistication, and Poo carries the same confidence!

But the comparison goes beyond aesthetics. There is a reason the character lasted culturally long after early-2000s fashion trends disappeared. Beneath all the self-obsession and iconic one-liners is someone perceptive. Poo understands social dynamics better than people give her credit for.

A cosmopolitan works similarly! People underestimate it because of its polished image, but the drink has sharpness underneath all that elegance.

5. Bunny From Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani Is An Espresso Martini

There is something very Bunny-coded about espresso martinis. Maybe it is the restless energy, maybe it is the polished surface hiding exhaustion, or maybe it is the way both seem designed for people who romanticise busy lives.

Bunny spends most of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani chasing movement. Stability almost scares him. Even his happiest moments carry the feeling that he is already halfway out the door mentally.

That emotional rhythm matches an espresso martini perfectly. The drink belongs to late nights, airports, rooftop conversations, after-parties, and ambitious people and, naturally, to the high spirits of World Cocktail Day.

6. Veronica From Cocktail Is A Margarita With Salt Around The Rim

Veronica enters Cocktail exactly the way margaritas arrive at tables; they both are fun, confident, social and impossible not to notice.

At first, everything about her feels effortless. She drinks, dances, hosts parties, laughs loudly, and seems entirely comfortable inside her own independence. But the film subtly reveals how much loneliness exists beneath that image. That is what makes the margarita comparison work!

A good margarita balances brightness with sharpness. The lime cuts through the sweetness, while the salt changes the flavour completely.

Veronica follows the same pattern. She becomes memorable not because she is “the cool girl”, but because the film eventually lets her vulnerability interrupt that image.

7. Munna Bhai From M.B.B.S Would Be A Mojito

Munna Bhai does not carry sophistication or calculated charm. Instead, his warmth feels more than natural. Whether he is comforting patients, confusing doctors, or inventing “jaadu ki jhappi”, the character works because his emotional sincerity cuts through every formal setting around him.

A mojito has similar energy; it relaxes a room and feels social in the best possible way. And much like Munna Bhai himself, it is difficult to dislike.

8. Devdas Would Never Be A Cocktail At All

Cocktails require balance, and well, Devdas has absolutely no interest in balance. He is whiskey neat.

Every emotion inside Devdas arrives dramatically amplified, be it heartbreak, regret, longing, self-pity, or obsession.

Whiskey neat suits him because it holds weight. It is intense, old-world, melancholic, and slightly self-destructive if consumed excessively. Which, frankly, describes Devdas perfectly.

9. Don Would Be A Perfectly Chilled Martini

Some drinks feel movie-like by default, and Martinis belong in that category.

That is Don’s entire personality. Throughout the film, he remains emotionally unreadable in the most deliberate way possible. A martini has the same confidence.

10. Chulbul Pandey From Dabangg Would Be A Bloody Mary

A Bloody Mary is not subtle, refined, or universally understood. It is bold, spicy, and very committed to its own personality.

This makes it perfect for Chulbul Pandey! From his swagger to his comic timing to the exaggerated action sequences, everything about the character is larger than life. He treats every scene like a performance and somehow makes complete absurdity feel entertaining.

The Bloody Mary shares a similar DNA. The unpredictability is exactly what makes both the drink and the character memorable.
