Exclusive: Tina Ahuja Reveals Govinda’s Sweet Ritual To Make Up For Missing Time Together

Some childhood memories don’t live in old photo albums; they live in the taste of an ice cream you’ve been ordering for years. That’s what happened when Tina Ahuja joined us for a nostalgic ride through Bandra on Tere Gully Mein. As they revisited the places that made up her growing-up years, one stop stole the show. It wasn’t a fancy restaurant or a celebrity hotspot; it was the Baskin-Robbins outlet on Carter Road, where Tina shared one of the sweetest stories about her father, Govinda.

Govinda Had The Cutest Post-Football Tradition With Tina Ahuja

“This is one of my most special places in Carter Road,” she said before walking in and ordering without even looking at the menu: Golden Ribbon with hot chocolate in a waffle cone. Tina laughed and revealed she’s been eating the very same flavour since she was in school. Some things, clearly, don’t need updating.

Then came the story behind the order, and it had nothing to do with ice cream! Growing up, Tina was very much into sports and played football at the inter-school level. Govinda, meanwhile, was one of the busiest stars in the country. Film shoots often kept him away from home, and he couldn’t always be there for school events or everyday moments. But whenever he did get time, he had his own little ritual to make up for the missed days.

A Dad-Daughter Memory Tina Will Never Forget

After Tina’s football classes, he’d simply say, “Chalo, I’ll take you for an ice cream.”Recalling those outings, Tina Ahuja smiled as she described how her father would barely eat two bites before pushing the cup back towards her and joking, “Accha, hogaya mera.” The ice cream was never really for him; it was his excuse to spend time with his daughter.

As Tina recreated the memory by digging into the Golden Ribbon ice cream, she admitted that even after so many years, the taste hadn’t changed. One bite was enough to transport her back to those post-football evenings with her father waiting beside her.

In a world where grand gestures often get all the hoots, this story was a reminder that children usually remember the little things. For Tina Ahuja, love tasted like Golden Ribbon, came in a waffle cone, and always came after football practice with her dad waiting outside.
