It’s not every day that we see airports preparing a signature fragrance to build a connection with their passengers. The Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru took an initiative to give travellers a memorable experience with a fragrance they will remember. On Thursday, July 24, the airport launched its new signature fragrance known as “Dancing Bamboo,” and here’s all you need to know about it.

Kempegowda International Airport Introduces Signature Fragrance

Coming together with Aéromé, a Mumbai-based signature fragrance brand, Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru created a customised scent known as “Dancing Bamboo.” The “Dancing Bamboo” fragrance is inspired by Terminal 2’s bamboo interior. It will be dispersed throughout major passenger areas, like the check-in and arrival areas at Terminal 2.

Introducing this scent, the Bengaluru Airport took to their X (formerly Twitter) account and said, “Scents can transport you! We’ve added an enchanting aroma designed to soothe and elevate your experience at BLR Airport. Our Signature Fragrance, ‘Dancing Bamboo,’ is specially curated to make you feel right at home.”

The idea behind the airport’s signature fragrance is to reflect its passenger-first approach. They want to create memories that feel emotional, familiar, and unforgettable. This subtle and impactful extension of the KIA brand is perfect to enhance the travel experience, making check-in and arrival feel luxurious and personalised.

Shalini Rao, Chief Marketing Officer of Bangalore International Airport Ltd, mentioned that they aim to make BLR Airport more than just a place for arrivals and check-ins. They want to create memorable moments with their passengers. And their newly launched signature fragrance is a step towards their vision. It is designed to give passengers a space that feels calm and familiar. She even added that, from food to shopping, lounge services, and more, they want to give new surprises to their passengers that make them feel special.

Construction Of Second International Airport In Bengaluru

After Kempegowda International Airport, the state government is now planning to construct a second international airport. The plan is already in motion. The State Industries and Infrastructure Development Minister, MB Patil, has already finalised three locations out of seven. They are Kaggalipura, Harohalli, and Chikkasolur, and all these locations are within 25-45 km of Bengaluru’s city centre.
