In the past few days, some parts of India, like Delhi and Chennai, have faced blackouts, and now it’s Bengaluru’s turn. Residents in many parts of Bengaluru should stay prepared, as BESCOM has announced planned power outages in several areas. Read on to know which day!

Bengaluru To Face Power Cut

The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) has informed that there will be a temporary shutdown in residential, commercial and institutional areas on June 22 and 23. This power cut is necessary for maintenance work and upgrading important electricity stations.

On June 22, several areas will face a power cut for about seven hours. The affected areas include Lottegollahalli, Munishamappa Layout, R.K. Garden, Sanjeevappa Layout, MLA Layout, Netaji Nagar, Pipeline Road, Mattikere, Mohan Kumar Nagar, J.P. Park, Akkiyappa Garden, B.K. Nagar, LIG Colony, Pampa Nagar, Yeshwanthpur, HMT Layout, Gokula 1st Stage and nearby localities.

As per The Financial Express, institutional and commercial establishments will be affected including the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), M.S. Ramaiah (MSR) Block, BHEL, IISc Training Centre, Ambedkar Nagar, Divanara Palya, Model Colony and Sharif Nagar.

The areas that will have just a five-and-a-half-hour power cut are Kollapuriamma, Divya Shanthi, Govindapura, Kaveri Nagar, Brindavan Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Hegde Nagar, Chandrika Soap Factory and surrounding neighbourhoods.

Which Areas Will Face A 2-Day Power Cut?

There are some areas in Bengaluru that will face a power cut on both days for about 11 hours. These places are Tarabanahalli, Hurulichikkanahalli, T.B. Cross, Hesaraghatta, Belavadi, Dwarakanagar, Chikkabanavara, Maruthi Nagar, Ganapathi Nagar, Shanthinagar, Brothers Colony, Krishna College Road, Raghavendra Layout, Boniface Layout, Guddadahalli, Dasenahalli, Hosahalli Palya, Danish Farm, KMF, Guna Agrahara, Ganesha Gollahalli and K.T. Pura.

Financial Express reported that other areas are Linganahalli, Madhavapura, Kalenahalli, Shivakote, Mavallipura, Kondashettyhalli, Kurubarahalli, Palanahalli, Raghavendra Dham, Jailkere, Acharya College Main Road, Achutha Nagar and Soladevanahalli. 

For these two days, BESCOM advised residents to be prepared and make necessary arrangements.
