With the winter chill setting in, Delhi woke up to sunny skies on November 5, 2026, but the AQI crossed 460. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of an active western disturbance in North India, with light rainfall expected in some areas. Keep reading to know what is expected in Delhi over the coming week.

How Is The Weather In Delhi?

Weather conditions in Delhi-NCR could change over the next week. According to Mid-Day, the IMD has predicted that a western disturbance has become active in parts of North India, including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. This means residents should expect changing weather conditions. Delhi may remain dry until November 8, but scattered light rainfall is expected in some areas. Snowfall is also expected in the hilly regions of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

But rain and cold are currently not the major concerns in Delhi-NCR. It’s air pollution, smog and hazy skies. The Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 463 in Delhi on November 5. Noida registered an AQI of 456, while Greater Noida reported 426. Pollution levels in Gurugram also remained severe.

It will get colder, with fog in the early morning hours.

If you are in Delhi, we suggest keeping an eye on your diet to stay safe during periods of air pollution. Eat foods rich in antioxidants, like amla, guava and bell peppers. Include leafy greens and healthy fats in your diet. Stay hydrated and, since it’s getting cold, avoid iced beverages and sip on warming drinks. Meanwhile, rainfall is expected in southern India due to the cyclonic system over Lakshadweep, coastal Karnataka and southern Tamil Nadu.
