Nine People Killed In Sleeper Bus Fire
The AC sleeper bus was travelling from Noida to Mahoba with 35 passengers on board. It caught fire around 11 PM near Dayanatpur village in Jewar, leaving passengers trapped inside. Not everyone managed to get out safely. Nine people, including a woman, died in the fire.
As per a Hindustan Times report, some passengers smelled burning as they reached the Yamuna Expressway. They quickly informed the driver, but by the time he managed to stop the bus, the fire had already broken out. The driver and conductor managed to escape before the police team reached the spot. Police have launched a search to trace and arrest them.

How Bus Catch Fire?
According to the Greater Noida Police, the bus caught fire after a spark or blast in the AC bus. Due to this, the engine lubricating oil caught fire. A passenger who survived the incident shared his experience. Speaking to news agency ANI, he said he was sleeping when another passenger woke him up and informed him about the fire.
The passenger then added that the smoke made it difficult for people to move forward. As the bus was completely packed with passengers, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed condolences to the families of those who died. He also asked officials to make sure that everyone injured gets proper treatment.
