Booking Steps To Take Your Pet With You On A Train Journey

Whether it’s a dog or a cat, a holiday feels incomplete if you leave your pet at home, right? But instead of that, you can simply take your pet with you on a train. And no, the booking process is not difficult at all. A digital creator on Instagram, Aditya Saran (@adt.saran), recently explained the entire booking process while travelling with his five super-cute cats on Indian trains.
According to Aditya, the first thing you need is a First AC ticket, as it has cabins and coupes that ensure your pet can travel comfortably. It also ensures other passengers are not disturbed. However, getting a cabin or a coupe is not always guaranteed. That is why it is advised to submit a request letter for a coupe or a cabin to the Chief Reservation Supervisor or Chief Reservation Officer at your city’s railway station. The letter should be submitted 24 to 48 hours before departure. This will make the process easier for you.

Documents You Need Before Travelling With Your Fur Baby
Aditya, a pet parent to five cats, also mentioned the next important things you need: a Rabies Vaccination Certificate and a Fit to Travel Certificate, which should be issued by a veterinarian 24 to 48 hours before travel. You also need to register your pet on the IRCTC website and select the Dog/Cat Booking option. The booking will be confirmed after you are allotted either a cabin or a coupe.
On the day of departure, feed your pet, place it in a pet carrier and take it to the railway station. Then enjoy your journey with your fur baby in your cabin or coupe. If you are travelling with cats, you can also keep a litter box inside the cabin.
