India is experiencing cold wave-like conditions, and yes, they are set to continue over the next few days. Some parts of the country will witness heavy rain, while other regions may be engulfed in dense fog. India is clearly feeling much colder right now, and we advise everyone to layer up in warm clothes. Here are the latest weather updates from across the country that you should know.
Delhi Residents Woke Up To Bone-Chilling Cold
Delhi residents woke up to freezing conditions as the city recorded its coldest January night in two years. According to a report by India.com, the minimum temperature dropped to 4.6°C on Friday. Dense fog was also witnessed on Saturday morning. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that cold wave and dense fog conditions will continue across north-western and eastern India. The extreme cold is already making people shiver.
Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and eastern Rajasthan can also expect light to heavy rainfall on January 10 and 11. As per a report by The Times of India, even southern regions are set to feel colder. Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Dense Fog And Cold Wave Alerts Issued For Several States
Dense fog is expected over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand till January 14. Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Bihar can also expect dense fog from January 13 to 16. Regions such as Madhya Pradesh, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura may continue to experience fog till January 11.
According to The Times of India, cold wave conditions are likely at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, and north interior Karnataka on January 10 and 11. As per the All India Weather Summary and Forecast Bulletin, minimum temperatures are likely to remain the same over north-west and east India over the next seven days.
People living in central India and the Maharashtra region may not see major weather changes in the next 24 hours. However, temperatures could rise slightly over the next four days.
