India Weather Update: Delhi Temp To Drop To 2–4°C, Mumbai Wakes Up To Smog, J&K To Get Snowfall

Winter continues to keep many parts of India in its grip, with harsh cold conditions reported across several regions. Now, a fresh weather change is on the way. North India, in particular, is set to witness rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, and snowfall in some areas over the next few days. Scroll down to know how this weather shift may impact your city.

Weather In North India

Weather experts say a strong western disturbance will affect North India from February 2 to February 4, 2026. According to The Daily Jagran, during this period, many areas are likely to receive rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds. Instead of bringing relief from the cold, this system is expected to make conditions harsher.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also confirmed that two weather systems are active at the same time, as shared on its X handle. Due to their impact, several parts of the western Himalayan region are expected to receive widespread rain and snowfall.

Under the influence of an active western disturbance, Delhi received light rainfall during the early hours of Sunday, February 1, 2026. Weather experts say another disturbance will reach the region soon. Because of this, Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Greater Noida may experience light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds over the next few days. There are also signs of the temperature dropping by  2 to 4°C and visibility falling to zero.

If you’re planning a trip to the hills, be prepared for a change in weather. Parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh recorded a fresh spell of light rain and snowfall on Sunday. Snowfall in these areas may continue for some days.

How’s The Weather In Other Indian Cities?

According to Mid-Day, Mumbai began the day with cold and foggy weather, and smog spread across many parts of the city, making it hard to see clearly. These conditions once again showed that air pollution in Mumbai has become a serious issue, especially during the winter months.

Kannada Times Now reported that between February 2 and February 5, Bengaluru is expected to have partly cloudy weather. Day temperatures may stay close to 30°C, while night temperatures could drop to around 17°C. Humidity is likely to be about 55% during the daytime and may rise to nearly 80% at night.
