Swiggy’s IPL 2026 Food Ordering and Dining Insights gave an interesting insight into what cricket fans ate and ordered during the Indian Premier League 2026 edition. The report showed a 32.31% increase in orders compared to last year, reflecting India’s passion for cricket and food.

While metro cities like Bengaluru, Mumbai and Hyderabad led the food orders across India, Swiggy also observed high demand in Surat, Thiruvananthapuram and Vadodara during the Qualifier and Final matches. During these matches, India indulged in choco lava cakes, tender coconut ice cream and ras malai, making them the most-ordered desserts on the platform.

Meanwhile, Chicken Biryani, Chicken Fried Rice, and Veg Burgers emerged as the most-ordered main-course items, while Pav Bhaji and Chicken Popcorn ranked among the most popular snacks ordered during the final matches of the tournament.

On May 31, during the final match between RCB and GT, Swiggy noted an average of 1300 orders per minute, peaking at over 6200 orders at 7:56 PM!

It wasn’t just food deliveries that surged during IPL 2026; fans also stepped out to enjoy the action at restaurants and cafes. According to Swiggy, Dineout bookings during the season rose by 41% compared to IPL 2025, with Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Pune recording the highest number of reservations.

It is worth noting that the cricket fever was equally evident in Tier-II cities, where Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Chandigarh, and Lucknow saw a significant number of diners heading to restaurants to enjoy good food alongside the matches.

One of the most remarkable celebrations took place on May 29, when a group of 20 diners in Bengaluru went all out, racking up a Swiggy Dineout bill of ₹2,14,061 while watching the match.
