The Malabar Hill nature trail was opened this year in March, and in just a few months, it has become one of the most favourite monsoon hotspots, especially for Mumbaikars. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), it has already welcomed nearly 2.98 lakh visitors and generated around ₹72 lakh in revenue. The monsoon months brought a special charm — between June and September alone, over 1.81 lakh people visited to enjoy the rain-soaked greenery, reported The Free Press Journal.

This place has a beautiful wooden walkway that has been inspired by Singapore’s famous forest walkways. It is about 485 metres long and 2.4 metres wide, starting near Kamala Nehru Park. As you walk along this elevated path, you can enjoy the peaceful surroundings filled with green trees, fresh air, and the sounds of birds. The place promises a calm and relaxing experience right in the middle of the city.

More About This Eco-Friendly Project

The Malabar Hill nature trail is designed to be eco-friendly. Its wooden walkway is built above the ground to protect the forest and trees. It allows rainwater to flow naturally, uses local materials, and has soft lighting that blends with nature. If you’re worried about the crowd, then fret not because entry is restricted to 200 visitors per one-hour slot.

If you’re planning to visit this place, the trail is open daily from 5 AM to 8 PM. The tickets are priced at ₹25 for Mumbaikars and ₹100 for foreign tourists, reported The Free Press Journal. The slots often get booked weeks in advance, showing just how popular the spot has become.

Even though it rained heavily during the monsoon, many people still visited the Malabar Hill walkway. The number of visitors went down a little in June. However, it soon picked up again as people came out to enjoy the fresh greenery. During the Diwali holidays, the trail became so popular that many visitors couldn’t get entry because all the booking slots were already full.
