The VIP system allows devotees to skip regular queues for a faster darshan. Here’s what you need to know.

VIP Break Darshan Cancelled In Tirupati Temple For 2 Days

The Sri Venkateswara Swami Temple in Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh, is one of the most visited and wealthiest pilgrimage sites in India. The VIP Break Darshan at the temple is a system that allows devotees to skip regular long queues for a much more peaceful darshan of the deity. But according to Deccan Chronicle, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced that VIP Break Darshan will remain cancelled on July 14 and July 17 in view of the Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam on July 14.

For those of you who don’t know, Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam is a sacred purification ceremony. It is observed in major Vaishnavite temples, especially at the Sri Venkateswara Swami Temple in Tirumala. On July 17, the VIP Break Darshan will remain cancelled for Anivara Asthanam.

Devotees Advised To Plan Their Visit Accordingly

According to Deccan Chronicle, Kalyanotsavam, Arjitha Brahmotsavam, Unjal Seva and Sahasra Deepalankarana Seva will also be cancelled on July 17 due to the Anivara Asthanam celebrations. TTD has taken this decision to ensure the smooth conduct of temple rituals and facilitate better darshan for all devotees.

TTD has also announced that VIP Darshan recommendation letters will not be accepted on these dates. This means people planning to visit Tirumala are advised to plan their visit accordingly. According to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), the waiting time for Sarva Darshan (non-VIP Darshan) is expected to be around 18-20 hours. The waiting time for Special Entry Darshan is around 3-5 hours with a ₹300 fee.
