Heavy Traffic In Manali Leaves Travellers Stranded
What’s even the point of vacations if you’re stuck in 10 km traffic jams for hours? Really sad to see Himachal like this now. To people connected with me on X, honest advice, wait a few days before planning trips. Right now it feels more like torture than a holiday.

An X user, Nikhil Saini (@iNikhilsaini), took to his handle to give a glimpse of what Manali looks like during the peak season. The video was shot at night, showing the glow of vehicles lined up in heavy traffic. In the video, he mentioned that the traffic in Himachal Pradesh’s Manali is now over 10 km long.
In the video, we can see how long the traffic jam is. The X user posted this video questioning, “What’s even the point of vacation?” In the caption, he also advised travellers to wait for a few days and then plan their Manali trip. He further highlighted that the government only promotes two or three spots while other places are not visited. According to him, this uneven focus has led to overcrowding in select tourist spots.

Netizens Share Their Reactions
This video showing the current situation of travellers in Manali has gone viral. The massive traffic is enough for people to rethink taking their trips now.
One user wrote, “Sad state. When should one plan to visit Manali? Summer holidays is a big NO. This is the state of almost all the hill stations of India.”
Another user added, “This is only because of nonsensical drivers having zero driving sense, civic sense, and parking sense.”
“Like Lonavala. Long weekends sometimes take 6-8 hours to cover the massive distance of 90 kms from Mumbai. You spend Friday on the Mumbai-Lonavala road, and Sunday on the Lonavala-Mumbai road. Saturday, we add more plastic wrappers, cigarette butts, and beer bottles to Lonavala,” one comment read.
Another user commented, “Overtourism without proper infrastructure eventually ruins the peace that people travel there to experience in the first place.”
