“Civic Sense Is Crying In Corner,” New Charging Station In Manali Turns Into Dumping Spot

When we travel to a new place, it becomes our responsibility to maintain cleanliness. We cannot just throw garbage anywhere and litter the roads, right? But a recent viral video has angered netizens over the lack of civic sense in tourists. A newly installed charging point on the Mall Road in Manali was turned into a garbage dump within hours, and people are fuming.

Charging Station In Manali Turned Into A Dumping Spot

Manali, a popular hill station in Himachal Pradesh, sees a lot of tourists even in the off-season. The place is known for snow-covered peaks, lush green valleys and its old-world charm. But the hill station is making headlines for a different reason. A video posted on X by @iNikhilsaini shows how a newly installed phone charging station for tourists was turned into a dumping spot within hours.

The clip has naturally angered netizens. It shows how some tourists can be irresponsible. Instead of respecting the facility provided by the Himachal government, they turned it into a spot to leave garbage. You can clearly see empty plastic water bottles, plates, glasses, wrappers and more dumped on and near the charging station in Manali. The user also wrote, “No Swachh Bharat or any scheme can fix this nation.”

Netizens Call Out Lack Of Civic Sense

People who were angered by the lack of civic sense questioned why tourists cannot put their trash in the dustbins instead of leaving it around. One user wrote, “Civic sense is crying in the corner,” while another commented, “This is extremely disappointing. Sad, but the government needs to enforce high penalties for littering.”

A third user wrote, “Nothing says ‘progress’ like turning a charging station into a trash can, then blaming policy instead of basic civic sense.” Honestly, these comments make sense, right? According to many users on X, there are enough dustbins on the Mall Road in Manali. Still, many people chose to leave their trash at the charging station. One user also highlighted that there are basic etiquette rules, but some people simply do not follow them.
