India is suffering majorly amid the rise of the covid-19 cases in the country. With no oxygen and a lack of healthcare facilities, the nation is mourning the loss of thousands dying amid the pandemic. And keeping India’s current situation in mind, several countries including, the UK, UAE, Oman, etc., have banned its travellers. And the latest one to impose restrictions on India is Switzerland. Switzerland Records First Case Of Indian Covid Variant
Switzerland has now recorded the Indian covid variant that’s creating havoc in India. And to curb the spread of this deadly variant, the Swiss authorities have announced a rule where Indian travellers will have to go into quarantine immediately after entering the country.

Yep, this is announced after Switzerland reported the first case of an Indian variant in a passenger who came to Switzerland after transiting through a European airport. As per the reports, the affected person changed flights in a European country before arriving in Switzerland. And the test sample that was collected in the northern canton of Solothurn came back positive. Hence, Switzerland has placed these restrictions.
Indian Travellers Now Visiting Switzerland Have To Quarantine For 10 Days
India’s second covid wave is getting scary day by day, with cases amounting to 3.5 lakhs daily- the healthcare system is struggling to help the terrifying number of infected citizens. And in fact, not only Switzerland but Belgium has also reported 20 cases of Indian variant from a group of 20 Indian nursing students who entered the country from Paris.

Well, the quarantine rules are not just for India, people from other countries on Switzerland’s red list must also quarantine for ten days upon entering. Also, for now, Swiss residents, and citizens are being permitted to enter Switzerland from India.
