INOX Study Reveals What Foodies Ate In Theatres In 2022
According to Cinema Food Report 2022, INOX Leisure fed a whopping 8.63 lakh kg of popcorn to movie-goers across India in 2022. Apart from popcorn, foodies binged on 19.38 lakh samosas and 82,000 packets of french fries this year. Mumbaikars ate the most popcorn compared to 29 cities in India. South cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai preferred munching on samosas at INOX cinema. Perhaps, they found samosas to be worth their price. * I’m a Bangalorean, and I admit to eating more samosas and puffs than popcorn at cinema halls*

Bengaluru Loves Nachos, Kolkata Chooses Dim Sums & Tamil Nadu Wants Puffs
Folks in Kolkata showed their love for Indo-Chinese and Tibetan food, by eating the most dim sum compared to other cities in India. The number is 2.21 lakh dim sums by Kolkatans and 79,436 dim sums by Delhiites. Apart from dim sums, INOX goers also savoured Indo-Chinese favourites like noodles and fried rice. You can certainly enjoy a full-course lunch or even dinner meal while watching a movie.

When it comes to Bengalureans, nobody enjoyed crunching on nachos more than them. Bengaluru techies ordered 11.25 per cent of the total nachos served across India by INOX in 2022. Folks in Tamil Nadu cities like Chennai, Salem and Madurai tucked into veg, non-veg and egg puffs at theatres. The beverage section witnessed servings of 20.28 lakh cups of coffee and tea and 38.5 lakh litres of soft drinks.
