Indian Mount Climber Anurag Maloo Rescued From Nepal’s Mt. Annapurna, Condition Critical

On Monday, Indian climber Anurag Maloo went missing as he was on his way climbing Mount Annapurna in Nepal. He fell  into a deep crevasse on Nepal’s mountain. The recent update on the missing mountain climber states that he has been found alive and is rescued by the rescuers. Even though he has been rescued, his condition is stated to be critical, and he is admitted to the hospital. 

Anurag Maloo Rescued From Nepal

Anurag Maloo is a 34 year old Indian entrepreneur and an experienced mountain climber. He went missing earlier this week after falling into a deep crevasse (crack in a thick layer of ice). He has been found alive by the rescuers but is in critical condition. 

At about 6,000 metres, while leaving Camp III, he vanished.  The tenth-highest peak in the world is Mount Annapurna in Nepal. His brother confirmed the news of Anurag’s rescue and spoke about shifting the focus on his medical health. (As per The Indian Express)

Anurag is a native of Kishangarh, in Rajasthan. He has been awarded the prestigious REX Karam-Veer Chakra in the past.

A Mountain-Preneur On A Mission

Anurag Maloo is on a mission where he plans to climb all 14 peaks that are higher than 8,000 metres. He also wants to conquer the seven highest summits on each of the seven continents. He wants to do this to raise awareness about the UN Global Goals and inspire action. His plans for this season were to climb Mount Annapurna, Mount Everest, and Lhotse in Nepal. He calls himself a ‘Mountain-preneur’ and has scaled Mount Ama Dablam. 

A couple of days ago, another mountain climber, Baljeet Kaur, was rescued by the Pioneer Annapurna Expedition. She belongs to Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district. He was on an expedition to climb Mount Annapurna in Nepal and went missing near Camp IV. The incident happened after she conquered Mount Annapurna I Peak.
