Indian Railways Announces Ganpati Festival Special Trains From Mumbai And Karnataka

The country is gearing up for its favorite and the most vibrant festival Ganesh Chaturthi which will be celebrated from 30th August to 8th September this year. Ganesh Chaturthi means a huge rush of people in trains to their native place or other cities. Keeping this point in mind, Indian Railway has announced about 214 Ganpati Festival Special Trains. This announcement was made by the Union Minister of Railway. 

Central Railway Will Run Additional Ganpati Specials

Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw took to Twitter to announce about Indian Railways coming up with 214 Ganpati Festival Special Trains. To handle the increased volume of travelers during the Ganpati Festival in 2022, Central Railway would operate 32 more Ganpati Special Trains. This is in addition to the already planned 74 Ganpati Special Trains. Under CR’s special trains comes 16 services of Mumbai-Sawantwadi Daily special, 2 services of Pune-Kudal special, 6 services of Nagpur-Madgaon Bi-weekly special, 4 services of Pune-Thivim or Kudal-Pune and  4 services Panvel-kudal and Thivim-Panvel.

Western Railway To Run 60 Trips

Six pairs of special trains will travel 60 runs on Western Railway’s special fare to a variety of locations. 6 trips of Mumbai to Thokur weekly special, 6 trips of Bandra terminus to Kudal weekly special, 34 trips of Mumbai central to Madgaon special, 6 trips of Udhna to Madgaon weekly special, 4 trips of Ahmedabad to Kudal weekly special and 4 trips of Vishwamitri to Kudal weekly special. To cater the heavy rush, there will be 60 Ganpati Special trains run between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and Thokur. 30 services of Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to Thokur and 30 services of Thokur to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus.
