Indian Railways To Operate A Special Train For Onam Connecting Panvel & Nagercoil Via Mangaluru

We are so close to celebrating the grand Onam festival, starting on 20 August. People from different places are all set to return to their homes to celebrate this auspicious occasion with family and friends. Concerned authorities are initiating special bus services in this peak time. And now, Indian Railways is also launching a special train to provide respite to passengers during their journey.

Indian Railways recently made the announcement of starting a special train that will take passengers between Panvel and Nagercoil via Mangaluru Junction. The decision is to run the train thrice as round trips, according to a report by East Coast Daily. In between all the rush and buzz of getting tickets to return home and high passenger footfall at airports, bus stations, and railway stations, the implementation of this train will be extremely helpful to travel in this massive crowd of Onam.

As this train will operate on round trips, passengers can travel to Panvel from Nagercoil via Mangaluru Junction and vice versa. If your destination falls on this route, make sure to check out the tickets and book as well.

Here Are All The Necessary Details Of The Journeys:

  • This is a 21-coach special train with five 3-tier AC, one 2-tier AC, 11 sleeper class, and 2 general class. There are also 2 Seating cum Luggage coaches.
  • Train no. 06071 will take passengers to Panvel from Nagercoil. The journey will begin at 11:35 AM on Tuesday only. The dates to operate this train are 22 August, 29 August, and 5 September. Passengers will reach Panvel by 10:45 PM on Wednesday, according to the Konkan railway press release.
  • Train no. 06072 will take passengers to Nagercoil every Thursday only. The dates for the journey from Panvel to Nagercoil are 24 August, 31 August, and 7 September. The journey will commence at 12:10 AM and reach Nagercoil at 10 AM on Friday.
