Especially after the long pause of lockdowns and restrictions, this tropical destination emerged as a favourite place to rejuvenate amidst nature. Tourist footfall in Maldives till November 2022 has been amazing with about 1.5 million visitors and needless to say, Indians jetted off here in the most numbers.
The Maldives Recorded A Great Number Of International Visitors This Year

A huge number of international tourists visited this Asian country in 2022. Surprisingly, the number reached almost 1,491,236 from January 2022 to November 2022, as reported by the Ministry of Tourism Maldives. The Maldives’ Ministry of Tourism released a statistics report recently and it shows that 2022 experienced a growth of 28% in tourists travelling here in comparison to the last year 2021.

In November 2022, almost 15,000 travellers visited the archipelago. It indicates a YoY hike of 1.5%, as reported by DailyMirror. And presently, about 4465 tourists travel to the Maldives daily on an average with an average stay of 8.1 days.
Indians Are On The Top Visitors List In This Asian Country

Among millions of tourists entering the tropical country from different corners of the world, most numbers of travellers who took a trip here are from India. Indians ranked at the leading spot at the most travelled tourists here in all 11 months of the year. Russia stands in the second position and the UK in the third. The Maldives also attracted a great number of tourists from Germany, Italy, and the USA.
