India’s EV Shift: Uber & Refex Green Mobility To Deploy 1,000 Electric Cars By 2026

Uber partnered with Refex Green Mobility for the launch of 1,000 electric cars in India in 2026. This development is a vision of Uber for providing 100% emission-zero rides by the year 2040. As part of this initiative, Uber will roll out electric four-wheelers in most cities, kick-starting the transition of India towards clean and green urban transportation.

Uber Refex Green Mobility partnership will roll out 1,000 EVs to urban centres such as Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. This marks a significant point in Uber’s larger electrification strategy. The more individuals search for green transportation options, the more the programme will provide passengers with cleaner ride options while reducing carbon emissions.

Refex Green Mobility, which is a unit of Refex Industries Limited, runs under the Refex eVeelz brand. The organisation already has a fleet of close to 1,300 electric four-wheelers in India. By coming together with Uber, Refex Green Mobility is looking to spread the coverage of green transport.

Aditya Kapoor, Uber India and South Asia Head of Supply and Electrification, discussed the efforts of the company in breaking the barriers to EV adoption. According to him, this tie-up would propel the transition towards electric mobility and further Uber’s sustainability efforts in cities.

Sachin Navtosh Jha, Refex Group’s Chief of Staff, pointed out that their current businesses in B2B and B2C electric mobility would now reach Uber’s network. The partnership contributes to India’s sustainability mission through the promotion of EVs in urban transportation.

As a part of its broader goal of electrification, Uber has already launched Uber Green in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata.

This feature allows riders to book all-electric vehicles, giving a zero tailpipe emissions ride with just a few taps on the app. Uber Green is now live in more than 100 cities globally, and Uber is the leader in green mobility.

With this alliance, Uber and Refex Green Mobility are spearheading India’s electric vehicle revolution, offering cleaner options to travel, and helping create a more sustainable future. As electric transport picks up steam, actions such as these are moving us towards a cleaner city transportation network.
